Is it a long time since you spent some time on your Twitter or Facebook profile?
Do you feel that you’re not getting the most out of your efforts?
It’s important to spend some time doing a spring clean on your social profiles every now and again to ensure they have the most impact that they can.
Ways to ensure that you make good Social Media Profiles
Social Media Profiles
No. 1 – Watch the Image Sizes
When your customers arrive on your Facebook or Twitter profiles are they seeing a crisp and clear image that is correctly sized based on the conventions of the social platform? If you have images that are too big or too small, and simply don’t look right, then you’ll immediately put your customers off.
No. 2 – Get the Buttons on Your Site
Nowadays there’s no excuse for not having multiple social media buttons on your website. You can allow customers to share your content and even enable them to quickly, with just a couple of clicks, share to multiple social media platforms. If they see there is a lot of activity going on on your website through the social buttons and your social stats, you will be more likely to get referrals.
No. 3 – Make Sign-ups Easy
It’s all well and good having excellent reach and letting people know about your events and products but you have to make it easy for them to convert to actual customers. Have a clearly laid out path through your which customers should pass.
No. 4 – Use Keywords Wisely
Many people feel that keywords are a thing of the past but in fact they are the present and the future. The more often you use keywords related to your audience search, the more likely you are to become synonymous with those core keywords on different social platforms.
No. 5 – Encourage Interactivity
Interactivity
It really is a great idea to get customer reviews and opinions about your brand. This will help you improve and enhance the offering you make but also develop an image of a caring company that wants to improve the offering for their customer base.
No. 6 – Utilize Interesting Hashtags
The hashtags we use can have a massive impact on the amount we get re-tweeted on Twitter. By using hashtags that speak to people you will be more likely to go viral in the messages you get out there.
No. 7- Use People’s Names
It’s very easy to become impersonal on social networks when the exact opposite should be the case. When you are responding to fans or talking about tweets and re-tweeting, use actual names and respond in a personal manner.
No. 8 – Increase Your Social Presence
Social Presence
Many people use Twitter and Facebook but could PInterest or Instagram be a good marketing base for your products or services. Constantly be on the lookout for new sites and places to increase your business presence.
No. 9 – Work on Your Blog Titles
When you are promoting content on social media, it’s crucial that the titles capture imagination. Many of the best companies will spend 30 minutes to an hour working on getting the correct wording for their titles to ensure that they get their posts recognized and read. There’s no point having a superb content piece if people don’t come and read it because they aren’t captivated by the title.
No. 10 – Use Google Authorship
When you write your blog posts it’s a good idea to link with your Google Plus Profile so that an image goes next to your content in Google. This will enhance the impact of your piece in the search engines so that you get more people reading your pieces.
No. 11 – Build an E-mail Following
E-mail Following
A great way to get people in to your website on a regular basis is to use e-mail sign-ups. By having people sign up for promotions, free content, or any manner of other options, you can get them onto all of your social media in no time at all. Taking a proactive approach to getting these sign-ups and making it very easy for them to do so is definitely the way forward.
No. 12 – Complete Your Social Presence
As you build your social media presence through different platforms it’s important that you get your bios and profiles up to date and the brand image clear across all of them. You should have concise messages, consistent branding, and generally a coherent message that speaks across all of the platforms. By regularly reviewing your profiles you can ensure that they all stay in line with each other.
No. 13 – Don’t Be Shy
Don’t Be Shy
If you don’t have your picture on your social profiles you really are missing out. People do business with people and it’s through individuals that we come to know a brand. By putting your picture onto Google Plus, Facebook, Linkedin, and Twitter, you’ll end up with a better business presence in the long run. Don’t hide yourself away. Get your face out there on the web.
No. 14 – Update Your Websites
Make sure that your website is up to date with all of the icons and social media presence that you have; and in addition add them to your e-mail signatures where appropriate. If people don’t know about your social media presence then how are they going to talk with you through it?
No. 15 – Use Rich Media
Using videos, audio, and rich flash images really can enhance your brand and communicate quality to your audience. You are also much more likely to get images viral than text content. Think about infographics and everything you can to enhance your content and ensure that you make the most out of your social media efforts.
Those are all good suggestions Uttoran and I’m sure great advice everyone should be taking.
I know that from time to time our sites definitely need a spring cleaning so that they remain up to date and fresh.
I’m finding it odd that you say that we need to have pictures of us on our social sites, that includes your blog, yet there is not one of you anywhere on this blog. That’s how we connect to people so I hope you’ll remedy that soon.
Thanks for the tips and I know they all definitely work well.
